This book, and the system it described, was a godsend for my credit issues. Don’t be dissuaded if you run into some bumps along the way – while following the book’s steps, I was actually sued by the collection agency. The debt holder hired one of the most aggressive and sue-happy debt collectors in the nation (from my online research). I almost gave up many times. I filled out all the documents the court sent me for my summons and mailed them all back in on time. The whole process took almost a year. The collection agency rejected ALL my settlement offers during this time. When things looked the worst, and I was only about 2-3 days away from the court date, the collection agency FINALLY accepted my offer of paying off only 12% of the total amount owed. I couldn’t believe it! I was able to fight them using the step by step procedure. The bottom line of what the book laid out for me was that the collection agency was worried they couldn’t properly verify the debt according to the law, and they didn’t want to waste money and time. Wow. HEY, DO NOT GIVE UP!!! There is hope out there for everyone with collection agencies coming after you, whether you really owed the debt or not. I have not been paid in any way for this review, I am just so grateful to the author for giving me hope and giving me a plan and that WORKED to get out of CC debt without filing bankruptcy or ruining my credit.
Simple and straight forward guide for saving you and credit card companies money when you are not able to pay your credit card balance. I emailed the author with a few questions; he was quick to respond and thorough.A tip to anyone sending The Letter: Send it to the CC company's Billing/Payment address, not the General Customer Service address. After receiving a reply, send subsequent letters directly to the person who replied to your initial letter. And put your cut up credit card with the letter sent by certified mail.I've drafted The Letter; next I'll mail it and see what what happens.
I cannot tell you how this book has given me the piece of mind to get on with my life. Going through a tough time financially and family health problems I had to stop paying cards and this book is helping me deal with credit card companies following his guidelines and knowing step by step the actions that I need to take. With this book I feel confident that I'm going to be above all this one day. I also have reached out to DidoSphere and he has always taken the time to answer my questions.. I think the advice is something to really take to heart. With caveat: this was written long ago. It stresses writing letters instead of phone calls and emails. This may be true but I haven't heard this type of advice from anyone else. In addition, the success might be success that was prevalence a decade ago. So I would take this with a grain of salt. That being said, the advice is invaluable and it's very important for you to follow if you're in negotiating out of that with credit card agencies
I have just completed reading Chapter 1 and 2 of Debt and Credit Card Forgiveness. I am providing my opinion on Chapter 1. First, this short book, which I will refer to as a guide, is very informative and an excellent resource for anyone, myself included, who finds themselves at the mercy of creditors, debt collection companies and junk debt buyers due to unfortunate life changing circumstances, as in my case, job loss, that created undue financial hardships and its corresponding emotional distress.The author goes into detail about his own personal story leading up to the financial quagmire of personal debt and struggles to find a solution. Some of the experiences he shares, especially in reference to reaching out to debt settlement companies and hiring an attorney, I can definitely relate to as I too, also found myself at odds with their advice. In fact, one of the attorneys I had consulted with insisted that I settle my debt for 75 percent in favor of the debt collector! Thank God I had the good sense not to listen to him and followed my instincts to look for other alternatives.It is too bad that I did not come across this guide early enough and use one of the sample debt validation letters included which requests a list of pertinent documentation that the debt collector must provide to assert their claim of collecting a past due debt against me. Otherwise, I know, I would have gotten this junk debt collector to back down and not only cease their collection activities but expunge it. For example, just as the author explained, one of the junk debt collection companies that replied to my request for debt validation only provided six months of statements and nothing else! Clearly, insufficient proof as to my responsibility for the debt they alleged I owed. Another aspect of the guide which is really quite helpful and extremely invaluable, is the section on negotiating your debts with these money hungry vampires. I really appreciate the thoroughness and detail the author provides, especially the tactic of using an incremental approach when countering their settlement offers.I am not proud that I went into debt and the stress it has caused in my life, but all Americans have rights under our legal system and the debt collection companies know how to use and abuse them at our peril. However, what I learned from reading this guide truly opened my eyes to just how vulnerable we are to the tricks and underhanded tactics of creditors, debt collectors and junk debt buyers when we don't know what those rights are or how to properly defend ourselves. I definitely recommend this guide book and plan on reading it again at least three more times before putting it into action. It's well worth it if you are going through debt collection hell as I have been!

The Ebook goes over the basics and then some when in trouble with credit cards.It gives you the timeline of what happens after you stop paying so you know whatto expect. Keep in mind not all CC are the same but you get sample negotiating letters.Explains the process of what the CC companies do. Book tells you the stuff they CANT do.Very informative -Evan
